Usage of Carbon additive

1. Process of adding carburizer with furnace

1) Charging sequence for cold furnace condition - add according to the mode of "scrap + ferromanganese + carburizer + scrap + recycle + scrap + pig iron + ferrosilicon";

2) Charging sequence of hot furnace situation - about 300kg of molten iron is left at the bottom of the furnace, which is added in the way of "scrap + ferromanganese + carburizer + scrap + recycle + scrap iron + pig iron + ferrosilicon";

3) If scrap is pressed with scrap, it may not be practical to add scrap directly to the bottom of the furnace at first. Therefore, according to the actual situation of the plant, it is added in the way of "recycle + ferromanganese + carburizer + scrap + recycle + ferrosilicon";

2. Application process of carburizer in fine adjustment

After the molten iron is melted, in the case of insufficient carbon content in the molten iron, fine adjustment and carburization are needed to meet the process requirements. At this time, it is generally hoped that the carburizer can quickly achieve the effect of carburization, so as to avoid the influence of too long treatment time on the metallurgical quality of molten iron. At this time, the instant graphitizing carburizer should be added to the molten iron surface, and the iron can be produced within 1-2 minutes after proper stirring.

Matters needing attention:

1. The carburizer shall avoid direct contact with the furnace bottom lining material to prevent the carburizer from eroding the furnace lining;

2. The carburizer shall be avoided to be added together with iron chips as far as possible to prevent the agglomeration of the carburizer and other materials from affecting the absorption of the carburizer;

3. If the amount of carburizing agent is too large in the production process of all scrap, it is not suitable to add all of them. It should be added gradually and layer by layer.
