Silica thermal insulation brick for the top of light-weight silica brick rolling heating furnace
Lightweight silica bricks are also called silica heat insulating bricks. Lightweight refractory with a silica content of more than 91% and a bulk density of less than 1.2g/cm3. The refractoriness and softening temperature under load are not much different from ordinary silica bricks with the same composition. However, due to the large number of pores, the compressive strength, slag resistance and corrosion resistance are not as good as ordinary silica bricks, but the thermal shock resistance is improved.
Advantages of lightweight silica bricks
1. Lightweight silica bricks are unmatched by lightweight clay bricks. Lightweight silica bricks with a porosity of about 50% have lower thermal conductivity than lightweight clay bricks.
2. The deformation temperature under load reaches 1620-1640°C, while the lightweight clay brick is only 1200-1300°C. It does not shrink at high temperature, but expands (about <0.2%) at 1450°C, and the volume is stable, while the clay lightweight brick shrinks greatly. It is easy to crack the furnace lining.
3. It can be used for a long time in furnaces and kilns working at a temperature of 1550~1600 °C; it can be directly laid on the hot surface contacting the furnace gas, and can also be used for large-span furnace roofs; it can be used in high temperature places where light clay bricks cannot be used. Use lightweight silica bricks.
4. The use of light silica bricks in the lining of the heating furnace can shorten the heating period and reduce the fuel consumption by 35% compared with the use of light clay bricks. The use of lightweight silica bricks on the top of the firing kiln (down-flame kiln) can prolong the service life of the top of the furnace.
Lightweight silica bricks are usually used in industrial furnaces or furnace tops such as steel rolling heating furnace tops, hot blast furnaces, glass furnaces, etc., and can be in direct contact with the flame.
